December 2024 - This year, we saw some big milestones: category-based Express Entry draws helping those in healthcare, agriculture, and STEM get closer to PR, and the launch of the enhanced caregiver pilots, allowing caregivers to apply for PR right from the start.

Of course, there were challenges as well, including changes to low-wage work permits and Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility. Some had to return to school to boost their points, while others relied on high-wage LMIA-supported work permits to extend their stay. Yet, despite these hurdles, we’ve seen incredible resilience—navigating the shifts and seizing new opportunities along the way.

Changes to Spousal Work Permits Coming Soon!

November 2024 - The Canadian government is tightening eligibility for spousal open work permits under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and International Mobility Program (IMP). Here's what you need to know:

Who will qualify under the new rules?

Only spouses of foreign workers in:

• TEER 0-1 occupations (management and professional roles).

• Sectors with labour shortages designated by the Government of Canada.

Spouses of workers in TEER 4-5 jobs or industries not deemed in shortage will no longer automatically qualify.

Act Now Before the Changes Take Effect!

Under current rules, spouses of foreign workers in TEER 0-3 occupations are eligible for open work permits. If you meet the current criteria, apply now while these rules are still in effect.
