The Canadian immigration system is set to introduce two distinct streams for caregivers:
The "Workers in Canada" stream will open on March 31, 2025, allowing eligible individuals currently working in Canada to apply; and
The "Applicants Not Working in Canada" stream will open at a later date, providing opportunities for those outside the country.
To qualify for either stream, applicants must demonstrate:
Language proficiency with a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 4 in English or French,
Hold an education equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma, and
Have at least six months of recent, relevant work experience or a related caregiver training credential.
Have secure a full-time job offer in the home care sector outside of Quebec.
Importantly, no Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is required for this program, streamlining the application process for potential caregivers.
